Starbucks Card Terms & Conditions

Updated: 1 November 2023

This Starbucks Card Agreement ("Agreement") is between you and PT Sari Coffee Indonesia (“Starbucks”) ("we" or "us") and describes the terms and conditions that apply to your Starbucks Card. By buying, loading or using your Starbucks Card, you agree to these terms.

About Your Starbucks Card

We issue the Starbucks Card to you. It allows you to load monetary value in Indonesian Rupiah currency onto your Starbucks Card for use at participating Starbucks stores in Indonesia. The Indonesian Rupiah value that you load onto your Starbucks Card is a prepayment for the goods and services of participating stores.

The balance value in Indonesian Rupiah currency within your Starbucks Card is registered as electronic money to make shopping transactions at all participating Starbucks Indonesia stores in accordance with the applicable regulations. All transactions within your Starbucks Rewards account and Starbucks Card are closed loop, registered to and monitored by Bank of Indonesia.

We offer the Starbucks Card to make it easier for you to shop with us and to make your relationship with us more rewarding. Unless otherwise required by law or permitted by this Agreement, the Indonesian Rupiah value on your Starbucks Card is non-refundable and may not be redeemed for cash. All Starbucks stores in Indonesia accept your Starbucks Card.

When you register your Starbucks Cards with the Starbucks Rewards® program, you will also apply to Terms of Use

Loading Value on Your Card

You can load monetary value (or Top-Up) on your Starbucks account balance (either via a physical Starbucks Card / E-Card on Starbucks Indonesia app) denominated in Indonesian Rupiah currency. In order to make a Top Up transaction in your Starbucks Card, you are given the option to do it offline by visiting the nearest Starbucks store and can also be done online through our website or a Virtual Account (Virtual Account) available in your Starbucks ID Mobile App.

Initially you may not have more than IDR 2,000,000 in value on any of your Starbucks Cards at any time, and no more than IDR 20,000,000 may be associated with any one Starbucks Card in a single month. This means that the activity on any one of your Starbucks Cards cannot exceed IDR 20,000,000 over the course of a month. There is a minimum amount that you may load on any Starbucks Card at any given time, and that amount is typically IDR 100,000. We may change any of these amounts at any time without notice to you.

To be able to save a larger balance in your account and Starbucks Card, you need to go through the KYC (Know Your Customer) process to upgrade (upgrade) your account status to a Premium account. Thus, you can save a maximum balance of IDR 20,000,000 (twenty million rupiah) into your Starbucks ID account and the activity on any one of your Starbucks Cards will be upgraded to a maximum of IDR 40,000,000 over the course of a month.

All amounts loaded onto your Starbucks account balance are denominated in Indonesian Rupiah and the Starbucks Card is only valid for transactions in all participating Starbucks stores in Indonesia.

Payment Transaction

As a member who enjoys the benefits of Starbucks Rewards, you are required to scan your Starbucks account barcode before transacting any purchase or any Reward redemption using your Starbucks account balance all the time. However, now at participating Starbucks stores you can earn Stars based on the value of your purchase at the rate of one (1) Star for every Six Thousand Indonesian Rupiah (6,000 IDR) spent using your registered Starbucks Card / Starbucks account balance OR you can earn (1) Star for every Twelve Thousand Indonesian Rupiah (12,000 IDR) spent using other methods of payment or through delivery orders via the GrabFood app.

If you have insufficient balance when transacting, it is recommended for you to top up your Starbucks Card prior to your purchase. Re-loading your balance or Top-up’s can be done in-store or online through the Starbucks Indonesia mobile application. It is not suggested, nor is it in the best interest of a registered member to make partial payments with a Starbucks Card and a different payment method simply due to the lesser star value they will get if a member uses another method of payment and also to avoid the occurrence of combined promotions.

Promotional Programs

From time to time, we may, in our sole discretion, run promotional programs associated with the Starbucks Card program ("Promotions"). Such Promotions are subject to these terms, as well as additional terms as indicated in connection with the Promotions. We reserve the right to modify the terms and conditions of any Promotion at any time, including and up to terminating the Promotion.

Receipts and Transaction History

When you use your Starbucks Card, we will provide a receipt if you request one. The receipt will indicate that the purchase was made using a Starbucks Card and will provide the remaining balance of your Starbucks Card. Please check your online transaction history regularly to ensure that your transaction history and account balance are correctly recorded. You can check the balance of your Starbucks Card via the Starbucks Mobile App or website to review your recent transactions on your Starbucks Card.

Billing Errors, Corrections

We will correct the balance of your Starbucks Card if we believe that a clerical, billing or accounting error occurred. If you have questions regarding your transaction history or any correction, or if you wish to dispute any transaction or correction that has been applied to your Starbucks Card, please call Customer Service at (021) 1 500 078. Assuming you provide sufficient details, we will review your claim and tell you what we find. We will correct any error promptly after we finish our review. If we do not find any error, we will explain what we found. We have no obligation to review or correct any billing error unless you provide us with sufficient notice for us to review your claim within sixty (60) days of the date of the transaction in question.

Fraud Associated with Your Starbucks Card or Card Balance

We will not accept any Starbucks Card or will limit use of any Starbucks Card or Starbucks Card balance, if we reasonably believe that the use is unauthorized, fraudulent or otherwise unlawful, and we consider such action appropriate to limit our risk.

When Starbucks Card is registered, the status will remain “active” with balance that can be used any time even though no transaction is recorded for more than 12 months. Activities such as top-ups, adding newly activated cards or in-store transaction fall under the definition of financial activities.

Deactivating an Account

Without notice, Starbucks reserves the right to suspend any Starbucks Card and/or terminate your account and/or your participation in Starbucks Rewards program if Starbucks determines in its sole discretion that you have violated these Terms of Use: you have more than one (1) account, or that the use of your account is unauthorized, deceptive, fraudulent or otherwise unlawful. Starbucks may, in its sole discretion, suspend, cancel or combine accounts that appear to be duplicative. If your participation in Starbucks Rewards is terminated, then all accumulated Stars in your account are voided.

Starbucks also reserves the right to “unregister" and make ineligible for the Starbucks Rewards program any Starbucks Card or account that has been inactive for two (2) consecutive years. Inactive is defined as no Stars earned. If your Starbucks Card or account is unregistered or rendered inactive, then all accumulated Stars in your account are voided.
